Biology on track: single-molecule visualisation of protein dynamics on linear DNA substrates

Abstract

Single-molecule fluorescence imaging techniques have become important tools in biological research to gain mechanistic insights into cellular processes. These methods enable the direct observation of individual biomolecules and their dynamic interactions, providing information that can be obscured in ensemble measurements. This review discusses approaches for visualising protein dynamics on linear DNA substrates at the single-molecule level and their application to the study of complex biological processes.
