Elise and Nick received their PhDs!

Congratulations to Dr Elise Wilkinson and Dr Nicholas Kusi-Appauh on completing their PhDs on Wednesday!

Nick’s thesis, “Exploring DNA replication roadblocks and protein dynamics using single-molecule techniques”, investigated how different DNA roadblocks can completely alter the replication machinery of different organisms.

Elise’s thesis, “Single-molecule studies of protein dynamics during DNA replication and supercoiling”, explored how DNA replication and DNA supercoiling modulated protein behaviour using advanced single-molecule techniques.

Both projects reflect the exciting research undertaken in our lab, advancing our understanding of the molecular processes involved in DNA replication.

A fantastic achievement for both researchers, recognising years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work.
